This year’s conference theme is Global Governance in times of Global Challenges based on the recently adopted European Union Global Strategy
The audience consists of around 250 representatives of the Jean Monnet community – professors and researchers who teach EU studies and come from all around the world, and who together constitute a unique pool of knowledge when it comes to EU matters.
Ukraine’s Jean Monnet Community was presented by 10 participants from different universities and NGOs
This invitation-only conference consists of a mix of plenary sessions and working panels focusing on three topics:
- peace and security
The plenary session speakers are:
- Tibor Navaracsics
European Commissioner for Education and Culture
- Nathalie Tocci
Special advisor to Federica Mogherini ,EU High Representative and Keynote Speaker
- Dr Hayat Sindi
Member of the State Council of Saudi Arabia, UNESCO goodwill ambassador and visiting professor at Harvard University
The European Union External Action Service , as well as various European Commission departments, will participate in the working panels, providing the opportunity for the Jean Monnet professors to interact with EU representatives on a number of issues.
This ties in with the two main objectives of the conference:
- to provide an opportunity for the Jean Monnet community to be informed about the latest developments of European policies
to provide an opportunity for the EU services involved to receive feedback from the Jean Monnet community on specific policy questions.
