On June 22-23, 2015 the Jean Monnet Seminar «A changing neighbourhood» took place in Tbilisi.
The idea of the event was to reflect on the Eastern partnership initiative of the EU towards it?s Eastern European partners: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. Launched in 2009 at the Prague Summit, the initiative was to bring the Eastern European partners closer to the EU by means of supporting and encouraging reforms in the EaP countries for the benefit of their citizens.
The Seminar was organized by the European Commission and its delegation was represented there. The event gathered together around 70 participants from the EU countries and from the EaP counties. The two days seminar was efficiently divided into several workshops where participants could discuss the various issues of the Eastern partnership. The interest to this initiative is rather high nowadays due to the current dramatic events taking place in almost all the EaP countries in general, and in Ukraine in particular.
The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence at DSUM was represented by Prof. Dr. Nina Didenko and Dr.Irina Sikorskaya. Prof. Dr. Nina Didenko made a presentation on the European Studies in Ukraine.
