On November, 26 Donetsk State University of Management hosted roundtable “Higher Education in the EU and beyond: rethinking and reshaping due to the global challenges”. The roundtable was organized by Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in cooperation with European Parliament to Campus Programme which allows higher education institutions to benefit from the expertise and experience of former Members of the European Parliament who will share their insight into how the EU institutions really work.
Academics and students of DSUM were privileged to listen to Mr. Michael Elliott a former member of the European Parliament (1984-1999), Mayor of the London Borough of Ealing (2005-2006). Mr. Michael Elliott was invited as a keynote speaker at this event. Today he is an active member of the European Parliament Former Members Association and holds a number of administrative positions.
Vice-Rector for Science and Research of DSUM Prof. Vitaly Piljushenko greeted the participants of the event. Among the honored guests there was Olga Tseselskaya, Head of Department of Family, Youth and International Affairs of Donetsk City Council.
The presentations of Mr. Michael Elliot (can be found at ‘Publications’) which highlighted information about various European educational initiatives caused a great interest among participants. The following presentations were also included into the agenda:

Anastasiya Nikishina and Daniel Sikorsky, students of DSUM – “Students exchange program in DSUM”.
The roundtable discussion had a great impact on the academic community of the University.
